Issue 3

$35.00

Our third issue has some weight to it. With eleven shorts and three feature articles. Interviewing Judicael, originally from France, this craftsman tattoos in Grass Valley, CA, where he makes unbelievable handmade jewelry. He shares his origins, adventurous travels, and deep passion for the craft, and we sent Andrew on assignment with his camera for some of the best photos we’ve seen from him yet. Canadian tattooer Damian Robertson lets us into the drive behind his tattooing, coming from being a veteran with his warrior-themed works. We pay tribute to Tattoo Rick. Introduce you to Nomi Hayes, and talk about Michangelo and his “prisoners” in Florence, Italy. Reader Spotlight on another Canadian, Patrick O’Neil, who shifts his verbiage from client to patron and tells why. Southern California-based tattooer Gavin Hayes takes us camping for another edition of tattooer’s Kitchen. Laura shows us the Tokyo Cooking Studio, where we took a class from a Japanese chef. She also tells her tattoo origin story as an 18-year-old alone for three months volunteering at an orphanage in the southern tip of India, where she was called to her tattoo career. I share some thoughts on the evolution of tattooing today, My take on what Hannya represents to me, and a couple of other shorts you will just have to discover for yourself.
